Meet Our Providers


Lisa Rainey, MD - is a graduate of Temple University of Medicine. Dr. Rainey received her pediatric training at Children's National Health System. Dr. Rainey also received post graduate training at George Washington University School of Medicine, and completed her residency at Children’s National. She is board certified with the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is licensed in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.


Kermit Simrel, MD - completed his undergraduate degree from Howard University, and is an alumnus of Duke University Medical School. Dr. Simrel completed pediatric training at Children’s National Health System. Previously, Dr. Simrel held two teaching appoints as a clinical instructor for Children’s National and Assistant Clinical Professor at George Washington University. He is Board Certified in American Academy of Pediatrics.


Arlene Nichols, MD   - received her medical degree from the University of Virginia Medical School in Charlottesville, VA, and completed her residency at Howard University Hospital. Dr. Nichols has a special interest in autism. She has participated in clinical training through the “Autism Research Institute’s Defeat Autism Now” program and has mentored with an expert in autism for the past several years. Dr. Nicholas evaluates and treats children using her knowledge of both traditional medicine and functional/integrative medicine. She also is committed to teaching parents how to use an integrative approach in the everyday life of the child. Dr. Nichols is a board certified pediatrician who has practiced medicine for more than twenty years. Her foundation for integrative and functional medicine has been shaped by a master’s degree in genetics and three years of work at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in addition to a medical degree.
